‘Not pretty’: Alex Rae and Graham Roberts react as Rangers beat Celtic at Ibrox

Alex Rae has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the win for Steven Gerrard’s Rangers against Neil Lennon’s Celtic at Ibrox.

Rangers have got the better of Celtic 1-0 at Ibrox in the Old Firm derby this afternoon.

An own goal from Callum McGregor in the 70th minute proved to be the difference between the Gers and the Hoops in the Scottish Premiership game.

Celtic played most of the second half with 10 men due to the dismissal of Nir Bitton in the 62nd minute.

The result means that Rangers are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with 62 points from 22 matches.

Celtic, who have won the league title in Scotland for the past nine seasons, stay second with 43 points from 19 games.

Former Rangers star Rae was following the match, and he has given his take on the win for the Gers, admitting that it was not pretty.

Another former Rangers player, Graham Roberts, has hailed Gerrard’s team for the win.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Ibrox, hosts Rangers had 51% of the possession, took 10 shots of which none was on target, and earned two corners, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Celtic had 49% of the possession, took 14 shots of which three were on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.
