Liverpool attacker Fabio Carvalho is not good enough for the Premier League right now.
That is according to Gabby Agbonlahor, who has ripped into the Reds’ summer signing following the 1-0 defeat by Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.
The 20-year-old, who joined Liverpool from Fulham, squandered one excellent goalscoring opportunity but only mustered 28 touches during his 61 minutes on the pitch [WhoScored], before Jurgen Klopp swapped him with Jordan Henderson.
This was only Carvalho’s second start in the Premier League since joining Klopp’s side.
But Agbonlahor has claimed that he isn’t ready for the big time just yet, stressing that Liverpool should’ve sent him out on loan somewhere this past summer instead of using him in the senior squad immediately.

He told talkSPORT: “Carvalho doesn’t look like he’s Premier League quality. Looks like he needs another season out on loan. Doesn’t look ready.”
The former Aston Villa forward often makes headlines for rather controversial takes and honestly, this is quite a silly opinion to hold.
Yes, Carvalho struggled against Forest, but which Liverpool player didn’t?
The fact is that the Portuguese starlet has already put some of his Reds teammates to shame with his performances this season and scored a last-second winner to down Newcastle United back in August.
To say that he isn’t good enough for the top flight at the moment is laughable.
He might not thrive every week, but he invariably gives a very respectable account of himself and under a man-manager of Klopp’s talents, he’ll only get much better.
