Ralph Hasenhüttl told Sky Sports that the European Super League drama is ‘not over yet’ despite the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool pulling out.
The Southampton boss feels ‘the first battle’ has been won and, in the end, it was a ‘very good week’ for football.
On Sunday, the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal were announcing that they were going to be part of a breakaway league.
But by Tuesday and Wednesday, both clubs were apologising to their supporters, as the fiasco of the ESL descended into utter chaos.
And whilst the ESL seems dead in the water, Hasenhüttl feels there is more to come.
“I think, in the end, it was a very good week for football because the way the fans and everybody who loves football bounced back was amazing to watch,” said Hasenhüttl.
“I think maybe it was the worst idea I have ever heard. I think it was maybe underestimating the power of the fans, how much they love their football and how much football is for everybody.
“In the end, we are all happy that the first battle is won but I think it’s not over yet.”

Well, if any English sides tries to go down any other path, with similar intentions to the ESL saga, then they won’t last long.
Heads are starting to roll following the issues of the last few days and there is no doubt more to come.
In truth, owners, of those six English clubs, should be forced to sell up because their intentions are pretty clear.
