Gary Neville claimed that Patrick Bamford’s ‘runs and movement’ is something that is ‘not obvious to everyone watching from home’, as he told Sky Sports PL (12/09/21 at 4pm start) about the Leeds striker.
Leeds suffered a 3-0 defeat on home soil on Sunday and after four games there will be some worry from their supporters.
Bamford opened his account against Burnley before the international break, as Leeds search for that first win of the new campaign.
Despite that, one of the best news to come out of Elland Road this season was Bamford earning his maiden England call.
And Neville shared his thoughts on the work Bamford does without the ball and how viewers watching may not be able to see that from their TV screens.
“It’s not obvious to everyone at home watching because he had very little of the ball, Bamford,” said Neville.
“But his positions have been good. His runs and movements cause problems. Yes (agrees with Martin Tyler that is what has got him into the England set-up).”

Without the ball, there is no doubt that Bamford is one of the best in the Premier League.
It’s one of the big reasons why Marcelo Bielsa has put so much faith, with a lot of rewards, in the Englishman.
During Leeds’ time in the Championship, Bamford was under a lot of pressure from his own fans because of the big chances he used to miss.
But Bielsa constantly stood by him, even though at times it felt like it was right to pull him out and rest him.
And now the rewards are there for all to see because Harry Kane was the only Englishman to outscore him last season.
