Celtic can take a big step toward the Treble Treble tomorrow.
Scott Bain has told Four Four Two that Celtic’s success in recent years has been ‘not normal’.
Celtic will take a big step toward a third successive domestic treble if they beat Aberdeen in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park tomorrow.
Former manager Brendan Rodgers won seven of those potential nine trophies, and left the Hoops with a seven-point lead over Rangers in the Scottish Premiership title race back in February.
But now the pressure is on interim boss Neil Lennon to see if his side – now 11 points clear of the Gers – can complete an unprecedented Treble Treble.
Bain is set to start in between the sticks for Celtic against Derek McInnes’s side, and the Scottish goalkeeper says that the fact people are even talking about another treble is testament to how ‘special’ this team is.
“We don’t speak about trebles so pressure-wise, it doesn’t affect us,” he told Four Four Two.
“What people need to realise is what the team has done here over the last two years is special.
“It is not normal. The boys have made it seem normal that a team can go on and do that so to even be in a position to talk about it…”
It would be a phenomenal achievement if Celtic can win a third successive domestic treble and although many fans are still raw over Rodgers’s decision to quit in February, he will always be remembered as a hugely-successful manager at Parkhead.
