Harry Kane could make his comeback for Tottenham Hotspur against Wolverhampton Wanderers this afternoon.
Spurs take on Wolves at Molineux today as Nuno Espirito Santo returns to his former club.
But Kane is the pantomime villain of the piece and the reception from Wolves fans upon arriving at the stadium is testament to that.
The linked-away Tottenham hitman was widely jeered and booed by home fans as he stepped off the team bus.
It’s no secret that Kane isn’t Mr Popular among Spurs supporters right now, but even some of them on Twitter are condemning their Wanderers’ counterparts.
On the bench
We say could make his return because Nuno has only named the reported Manchester City target on the bench, but that’s to be expected.
Kane hasn’t kicked a ball since the Euro 2020 final defeat by Italy over a month ago and therefore the 28-year-old isn’t match fit.
But if he does come on at some point, it’ll be fascinating to see what sort of reception he gets from Tottenham fans.
Instead of Kane, Son Heung-min, who scored the winner against City last weekend, continues to spearhead the attack, with Dele Alli behind him and Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn either side of him.
