Craig Burley has stated that Arsenal transfer target Matheus Cunha isn’t of the quality of the injured Gabriel Jesus, as he told ESPN.
Mikel Arteta is looking to solve the issue of trying to replace the injured Jesus and Atletico Madrid’s Cunha has been spoken about, with Burley adding that the 23-year-old can play ‘everywhere’.
It looks like Cunha is set to leave Atletico and secure a transfer to the Premier League, it’s just a case of where will he end up because Wolves look like strong contenders to sign him.

New Wolves coach Julen Lopetegui is looking to make his mark after his recent appointment and his desire in wanting to sign Cunha will be a lot different than Arsenal’s.
It’s not even yet known if the Gunners will go out and purchase an out-and-out forward next month, but if they do, then former Scotland international Burley urged them ‘don’t panic buy’.
“Just don’t panic buy,” said Burley. “You have worked hard to get rid of some of the problematic players and the deadwood. Big salaries and huge egos. Disciplinary issues, not all of them, but some. You have got that out.
“You have built a fantastic little squad. It’s not hugely deep. It’s played some great stuff and now you have an injury. Don’t go out and bring somebody in for the sake of it and then be lumbered with that player when Jesus gets back, then you have a player that’s unhappy and you have a salary.
“It’s something Arsenal have done quite a few times and they have been left holding the baby.
“I know Matheus Cunha at Atletico Madrid can play anywhere across the front three positions. He is effectively a guy who grafts, works and he will get you the odd goal. He’s not Jesus quality.”

EDDIE NKETIAH’S BIG CHANCE
There has been a lot of talk about who Arsenal can bring in when Eddie Nketiah is sitting on the sidelines ready to be handed that chance.
From the outside, he’s clearly not rated given that names are being thrown about left, right and centre to replace Jesus.
Nketiah will surely be handed a chance during the first few weeks of Arsenal’s return to action and that’s his time to shut his critics up and prove that Arteta doesn’t need the transfer market to bring in a Jesus replacement.
