Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that Kiko Casilla was not injured last night.

Casilla was dropped from Leeds’ squad for their trip to West Ham United, with youngster Ilia Caprile favoured to him on the bench.

At first it was assumed that the Spaniard must have an injury.

However, Bielsa confirmed after the game that Casilla is actually fully fit.

“Casilla today was decision I made to include Caprile on the bench and Casilla is not injured,” he said.

Whether Caprile will now be promoted permanently to Leeds’ second choice remains to be seen.

The prospect has impressed for Leeds’ under-23’s this season, but the Whites would have the most inexperienced goalkeeping combination in the Premier League if he is promoted to first reserve.

Casilla hasn’t always looked assured in Leeds’ goal and his failure to even make match day squads will surely throw questions up over his future, ahead of the summer transfer window.
