Speaking on the EGTV YouTube channel, Ben Jacobs has been discussing Arsenal and their reported interest in Yeremy Pino.

The Gunners have been linked with Pino for the past month or so by numerous outlets, and according to Jacobs, their interest in the player is in fact concrete.

The reporter says that a deal for the 19-year-old is not impossible before the deadline, but even if the Gunners don’t make their move now, a transfer could be in the pipeline in the future.

However, Jacobs says that it may make more sense for Arsenal or any other interested party to go for Pino right now as the winger could be available for a cut-price deal due to Villarreal’s current financial struggles.

What’s been said?

Jacobs spoke about Pino’s situation.

“I think Pino is not impossible at all. Gakpo I’ve never heard too much substance with Arsenal,” Jacobs said.

“Pino is the interesting one, it might not be this window, but the interest is concrete and it’s just about timing.”

“The opportunism to move now is on price, the release clause is £67.5m and Villarreal have financial woes, so a few clubs are considering whether or not it could be a cut-price deal. If they don’t move now it could be one for the future, but what would the price be when they come back? It’s one to watch because the Arsenal interest has some substance.”

Get it done

Pino would be a brilliant signing for any top-level club. He’s a Spain international at the age of just 19 and there’s reason to believe he’s only going to get better.

Villarreal need to raise some funds, and if Pino is available for below his release clause, Arsenal need to move.

As Jacobs says, this price won’t be available forever, and in a world where an unproven Eredivisie player like Antony is costing £85m, Pino could easily be worth a ridiculous amount in a summer or two’s time.

The Pino train may be about to leave the station, and Arsenal need to make sure they’re on it.
