Trent Alexander-Arnold has raved about reported Liverpool target Adama Traore in an interview with Goal.com.
FourFourTwo reported in August how Liverpool were keen on Traore, although Wolves fought hard to keep hold of the wide-man, who was then tipped to be worth around £40 milliion.
Liverpool ultimately looked elsewhere in the transfer market, with Diogo Jota coming to join their attacking ranks.
But Alexander-Arnold’s comments suggest he would welcome Traore at Anfield, as he believes the Spanish international is such a threat.
“It’s almost not human the way he can change direction and go. I’ve never felt so powerless against someone,” the Liverpool full-back said.
“People are faster than you, that’s inevitable, but you can get yourself in good positions, give yourself a head start and get yourself in the race. But with him, and with his power as well, there’s nothing you can really do.
“I remember last season when he came on at Anfield. He’s just turned and knocked it, and he was gone. I’ve never felt like that before! It has to be him, has to be.”
Whether Liverpool will launch a bid for Traore in the future remains to be seen.
Traore actually hasn’t had a particularly prominent role at Wolves this year, with Nuno often only utilising him as an impact substitute.
That could have reduced his value somewhat, but Liverpool’s main cause for concern right now is with their defence rather than their attack.
The Reds have looked a real threat going forward, but have suffered badly with injuries at the back, and if they do enter the market in January it is likely to be for a defender rather than another winger.
