Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react after Rangers supremo Dave King spoke to Sky Sports after the Gers lifted their 55th Scottish title.

King said that he hopes Celtic come back fighting and provide Rangers with a challenge, as Scottish football needs both of them firing on all cylinders.

Primarily, King’s point is that both clubs need to be successful so they can both have access to Champions League football in the future.

As things stand, only the winners of the Scottish Premiership qualify for the Champions League.

While King makes a fair point, his comments seem to have angered some Celtic fans on Twitter.

The main source of their frustration seems to be the Rangers chairman’s slight arrogance after winning the Scottish Premiership.

It seems the Bhoys fans feel he is almost telling them to hurry up and get on their level to challenge them, for the good of Scottish football.

You can understand why such comments would annoy Celtic fans, as the Hoops had just won nine Scottish Premiership titles in a row.

One fan said that King ‘has a short memory’ – this backs up the aforementioned point nicely.

Another said that Rangers weren’t helping Scottish football’s Champions League hopes when they were playing East Fife and Arbroath in the lower leagues.

Let’s see what some more Celtic fans on Twitter thought of King’s comments…
