Well, what a performance by Leeds United this afternoon.
Okay so it wasn’t brilliant, but the Whites did demonstrate how much resilience they have yet again.
Jesse Marsch’s side were trailing 3-1 at home to Bournemouth by the 50-minute mark at Elland Road today.
But three second-half goals from Leeds – who opened the scoring through Rodrigo after three minutes – turned the game on its head and saw United record a stunning 4-3 victory.
However, not everybody in West Yorkshire was happy.
Rodrigo made way for Joe Gelhardt on the 81st minute and according to Optus Sport commentator Andy Walker, the Spaniard lashed a bib that was given to him in frustration after reaching the dugout.
He said live on Optus Sport [4.40 pm, 05/11]: “Rodrigo just threw the bib that was passed to him. Not happy at being substituted.”
In fairness to Marsch, it was definitely the right decision.
As good as Rodrigo can be, he isn’t a speedy player and he was, at times, slowing down the game at a time when Leeds needed tempo and loads of it.
Even their winner from Crysencio Summerville was scored following a devastating counter-attack.
Marsch’s substitutions worked a treat today, with Wilfried Gnonto securing the assist and really, Rodrigo can’t have many complaints.
