Well, Lucas Torreira’s post-Arsenal career hasn’t began with a bang.

Torreira left the Gunners earlier in August to join Galatasaray in Turkey.

On Saturday, the Uruguay international made his competitive debut for the club but it ended up in a surprise 1-0 home defeat by Giresunspor.

Here’s how the former Sampdoria midfielder reacted on Twitter:

Things couldn’t be going much better for Arsenal, in contrast to their former midfielder.

The North Londoners beat Leicester City 4-2 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday to make it two Premier League victories in succession, after beating Crystal Palace last week.

In truth, Torreira had to leave the Emirates Stadium.

He has been on loan to Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina in recent years, illustrating that he clearly isn’t wanted by Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.

It’s a shame because when Torreira first joined the Premier League outfit, he had a phenomenal first season under Unai Emery.

It looked like Arsenal had struck a major bargain when signing him for only £27 million, but the player has undeniably declined since then and hopefully for him, the 26-year-old can rediscover his best form in Turkey.
