Some Liverpool fans are starting to believe that Sadio Mane could actually leave in the summer now.
Mane snubbed Jurgen Klopp at full-time at Old Trafford yesterday, which caused quite a stir.
The Liverpool boss went to high five Mane, but the forward, who was left on the bench, simply trudged off down the tunnel.
Klopp glossed over the incident at full-time, but Sky’s pundits were critical of Mane, saying he had been disrespectful.
And Liverpool fans feel that could be the beginning of the end for the £34 million Senegalese player (BBC Sport) at Anfield.
Klopp told Sky Sports just yesterday that he expected Liverpool’s key players to stay this summer.
But Mane hasn’t enjoyed his most prolific season this term and his value is only likely to go down from here.
Mane is now 29, and it is difficult to see Liverpool fetching a big fee for him for much longer, regardless of how well he performs, due to his advancing years.
That could give Liverpool some reason to offload the attacker in the upcoming transfer window.
However, it would still have to be considered a shock if Liverpool were to sell Mane, as he has been such a key player for them in one of the most successful periods in the club’s recent history.
