Speaking to Liverpool’s official club website, Jurgen Klopp has given an update on the fitness of Roberto Firmino after he went off injured against Atletico Madrid.
The Brazilian was substituted on only to later be substituted off against the La Liga champions and it seems as though the injury he picked up was a rather serious one.
Indeed, sadly Klopp has some bad news for Liverpool supporters, stating that Firmino has a serious hamstring injury.
What’s been said?
Klopp had an update on Firmino.
“Bobby is not good news with a serious hamstring injury, really unfortunate. We don’t know exactly how long he will be out but it will be not now after the international break directly. We have to work on that,” Klopp said.

Shame
It’s a real shame to see Firmino go down with an injury at this time.
The Brazilian has been in fine form as of late. He hit a hat-trick against Watford last month and he’s been looking sharp in recent weeks.
How long he’s out for remains to be seen, but Liverpool fans will certainly be hoping that he’s back before the African Cup of Nations starts in the new year, because Liverpool will need all the attacking firepower they can muster together while Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are away on international duty.
Fingers crossed Firmino is back sooner rather than later.
