Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that he is disappointed by the injury suffered by Reiss Nelson against Juventus at the Emirates Stadium, as quoted in Football.London.

Arteta has said that Nelson having to be substituted in the first half of the friendly match between Arsenal and Juventus on Saturday evening is not good news.

The Arsenal boss has outlined why the 23-year-old is important to his team.

Nelson started for Arsenal against Serie A club Juventus, but manager Mikel Arteta had to take him off after just 21 minutes.

According to Dr. Rajpal Brar, DPT, Nelson went off with a muscular injury and was touching his left hamstring.

Football.London have also reported that Nelson appeared to suffer a hamstring injury.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on Reiss Nelson injury

Arteta said about Nelson: “We don’t know the extent of the injury. The fact that he had to leave the pitch straight away is not good news, especially with someone like Reiss who is really powerful and fast. Let’s see what will happen. We know what we have to do and that doesn’t change the plans.”

Blow

In our opinion, the injury to Reiss Nelson is a blow, both for Arsenal and for the winger.

The 23-year-old winger seems to be rated highly by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

Yes, Nelson is a squad player at Arsenal, but the North London club need all of their players for the second half of the season.

After all, Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title and are also in the knockout rounds of the UEFA Europa League.

There is also speculation that Nelson could get chances due to injury to Brazil international striker Gabriel Jesus.

Arteta could use winger Nelson as a striker in the absence of Jesus, according to TEAMtalk.

Let us now see for how long Nelson remains on the sidelines.
