Neil Warnock has claimed that Harry Kane must ‘pull his hair out’ watching Eric Dier play for Tottenham, as he told talkSPORT.
The English coach thinks Dier hasn’t been good enough for Spurs during the last ‘few years’.
Under Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and now Antonio Conte, the trio have picked Dier on a regular basis, so he must be doing something right.
It could also be argued that Spurs are a much better team with him in the side than without him in their back three.
But Warnock, who is known for his defensive style as a coach, doesn’t like what he sees from Dier at the back.
“The last few years, players like Dier, I just don’t think they are good enough at the back,” said Warnock.
“I think they have good games which fudges, ‘oh, we have turned the corner. We are a good side’. Then they go back to the way they were.
“You talk about Rudiger and Chelsea keeping him. You have got to keep players like that of that level. And I don’t see one Rudiger at Tottenham.
“I would imagine Harry Kane pulls his hair out when he looks behind him at times.”

Over the last 18 or so months, Dier lost his place in the England squad and also a golden ticket to Euro 2020.
In truth, given his drop in form, it was probably deserved that he lost that place and he didn’t have much to argue about.
But, this season, he could argue that he is clawing his way back into Gareth Southgate’s plans.
There isn’t much time left until the 2022 World Cup in Qatar hits our screens, so the end of this season and the start of the next campaign is very crucial for someone like Dier.
