Hugo Lloris has committed yet another goalkeeping howler for Tottenham Hotspur, this time against Arsenal.
The France international, despite playing in two World Cup finals since 2018, continues to look shaky in a Spurs shirt and it’s cost them in this evening’s North London derby.
Arsenal went ahead early on when Bukayo Saka’s cross-come-shot was parried into his own net by the former Lyon goalkeeper, a £12 million signing 11 years ago [Mirror].
Here’s what Clinton Morrison said to BBC Sport about that one: “It’s poor goalkeeping from Lloris. He flaps it into the net. It’s another goalkeeping mistake. Poor from him. He could just catch it, there is nobody near him. You don’t need that in a derby game.”
Minutes before that fatal mistake, Lloris made another one against Arsenal.

The 35-year-old dithered in possession and it nearly led to Eddie Nketiah firing the Gunners – and Premier League leaders – ahead, but Lloris kept him out.
Despite atoning for his own mistake, he looks ever so shaky and if you’re a Tottenham defender, you can’t have much confidence in your long-serving teammate.
Morrison said of that: “Why do goalkeepers do that? Just clear your lines. Lloris is not good enough with his feet. Nketiah had a golden opportunity and he should score but I’m going to give credit to Lloris for saving that. It should be 1-0 to Arsenal. Just clear your line.”
On 36 minutes, Martin Odegaard, the visitors’ captain, made it 2-0 with a rifled drive past Lloris.
It’ll be a fascinating second half if Tottenham get a goal back but, as of now, that looks decidedly unlikely.
