It was always pretty obvious that former Leeds United star Bailey Peacock-Farrell had a huge amount of potential.
And he has just reminded everybody of it.
Peacock-Farrell, who began his career at Leeds before being sold to Burnley last summer, played a blinder on Friday as Northern Ireland drew 1-1 away to Romania.
The 23-year-old, who made his Championship debut at the age of 19, produced a string of stunning saves to keep out the hosts, who had one man extra for most of the game following Josh Magennis’s dismissal on 39 minutes.
Peacock-Farrell saved the best for last, tipping Denis Alibec’s stinging close-range drive against the crossbar on 86 minutes to earn a point for his country.
Quite a lot of Leeds supporters weren’t happy to see Victor Orta sell him last summer – especially for only £2.5 million [BBC Sport] – and here’s how fans of the Elland Road club reacted to his heroics last night.
Despite his youth, Peacock-Farrell was a big player for the Whites and made 40 Championship appearances during his time in the senior set-up.
He hasn’t yet made a Premier League debut for the Clarets, but Sean Dyche will no doubt be aware of this performance and it’ll be interesting to see if his prospects change next season.
