Speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, Michail Antonio has been discussing Newcastle United after West Ham’s draw with the Magpies.
The Tyneside club have been rejuvenated in recent weeks, they’ve picked up 10 points from a possible 12 in their last four games, and they seem to be improving rapidly.
Antonio says that Newcastle impressed him massively, stating that he was blown away by the team’s shape and their ability to keep the ball under Eddie Howe.
What’s been said?
Antonio made his thoughts on Newcastle’s new style very clear.
“I’m not going to lie to you I am very impressed, I am very impressed, the shape you guys have got, how you play with it, we know how Eddie likes to play with being a possession-based manager and he’s got you guys playing very well,” Antonio said.

Howe’s the man
Eyebrows were raised when Eddie Howe was appointed as the Magpies’ new manager after they became the richest club in the world, but he’s proving to be the right choice.
Yes, it’s been a bit of a slow start, but now that the Tyneside club are in their stride, they’re looking brilliant.
As Antonio says, Howe has made his team organised at the back, while they’re also brilliant at keeping the ball.
This is a team that has transformed since the beginning of the season.
If Newcastle keep this up, they won’t have to worry about relegation at all.
