Reported Arsenal target Achraf Hakimi is “happy” at Inter Milan but his agent is refusing to rule out a move away from the Serie A leaders, speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss.

While Calum Chambers and Cedric Soares have done a respectable job at right-back in recent weeks, there’s no substitute for proven, elite-level quality.

And Hakimi has that in spades.

Arguably the most exciting right-sided full-back in world football right now, the £35 million flyer looks destined to follow two brilliant seasons on loan at Borussia Dortmund by securing a place in Inter Milan folklore.

Antonio Conte’s side are flying high at the top of Serie A, their first Scudetto since the Jose Mourinho days within touching distance.

But while all is well on the pitch, the same can’t be said in the boardroom. Inter are in a desperate financial situation, with their Chinese owners cutting costs at a rapid rate.

And, according to The Telegraph, Arsenal could take advantage with Hakimi’s short-term future suddenly in doubt only eight months after his big-money move from Real Madrid.

“Hakimi is happy at Inter with (Antonio) Conte, who’s an excellent coach,” Alejandro Camano says of his 22-year-old client, who has been a revelation in a right wing-back role at the San Siro.

“Conte’s style of play suits Achraf and I think he’ll end up improving a lot because of this experience with the Nerazzurri.”

When pressed on a potential departure, Camano was tellingly coy.

“Why not? We aren’t excluding anything for the future.”

Described as “the best right-back in the world” by the admittedly biased Camano last year, Hakimi has produced six goals and six assists this season.

In fact, since the start of 2018/19, the Moroccan has tallied a hugely impressive 18 goals and 23 assists in total.
