Stan Collymore has stated on Twitter that he’s ‘not convinced’ about Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho heading into the new Premier League season and suggested he is now past it.
The former striker questioned what type of Mourinho will show up, as he didn’t hold back in his comments about the three-time English League champion.
Last November, Daniel Levy made the surprise decision to part ways with Mauricio Pochettino and then replace him with Mourinho.
His last job was his gig at Old Trafford, which seemingly didn’t end well, even though he won the League Cup and the Europa League at the club. Not forgetting his second-place finish.
Since returning to England with Chelsea, where he also won the Premier League title upon his return, Mourinho’s character has been questioned.
But he has still managed to rack up the trophies, as many think his style of play and man-mangement is now out-dated.
The 2020/21 campaign will provide the out-spoken coach with a great chance to shut his critics up because if he wins a trophy in North London then it will be deemed a success.
A trophy and a top-four finish is the dream present for those at Tottenham, and if Mourinho can deliver both then it will perhaps go down as one of the best jobs he has done.
