‘Not coming back’: Some Spurs fans cannot see player return after surprising news last night

Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter to Carlo Ancelotti leaving Everton for Real Madrid and what this now means for Gareth Bale.

The Wales international is due back in Madrid this summer, but with Ancelotti now returning to the Spanish giants’ dugout, Spurs fans cannot see him donning their colours again.

Bale played his best football under Ancelotti and the Italian’s return may now have changed things for the Welshman over in Madrid.

A number of years after Ancelotti left Madrid, things went sour for the 31-year-old, who fell out of favour at the Bernabeu, including not seeing eye-to-eye with the supporters.

Eventually, after a number of seasons of warming the bench and spending time in the treatment room, it landed him back on Tottenham’s doorstep.

And whilst Spurs supporters didn’t exactly see the Bale of old this season, they still saw enough in his tank to want him to return.

Eurosport even recently claimed that Daniel Levy has agreed – on the same terms as before – for Bale to come back to North London.

But Spurs fans are well aware that Ancelotti’s surprise exit from Goodison and return to Madrid has thrown a spanner amongst the works.
