Jose Mourinho has told Tottenham Hotspur’s official website that Giovani Lo Celso won’t feature tonight, but he will be back soon.
Lo Celso was pictured in Tottenham training yesterday, as he steps up his return from injury.
There was some hope from supporters that the Argentine could even be given a run out against Wolfsberger AC in the Europa League later.
However, Mourinho doesn’t feel that the attacking midfielder is quite fit enough to cope with that task yet.
Instead, he will be kept in training for another couple of weeks, before being unleashed.
“Gio is not coming back, but coming back to training with the team, which is a big step and a very important one. Even today he was training for the first time, of course, with lots of protection in relation to what he could or could not do,” Mourinho said.

“But that beautiful relationship between Gio and the ball is magnificent, so it’s good news. It’s maybe a couple of weeks to play, but let’s say if everything goes well, we are on the countdown.”
Lo Celso’s return does indeed appear a major boost to Tottenham, who will look to him to add creativity to their attack.
Spurs have been struggling for form of late, but Lo Celso has the ability to inject more quality into their attacking play.
Mourinho has already hinted that Lo Celso could play alongside Tanguy Ndombele in midfield when he does return, and that is an exciting prospect for Tottenham supporters.
