Trevor Sinclair has claimed that if Harry Winks wants to develop as a player, then he needs to leave Tottenham, as he told Chris Cowlin’s Youtube channel.
The England midfielder is being tipped to head for the exit door this summer, with Everton one of the clubs looking at his services.
At 26-years-old, this is no time to dwell for Winks, who has stagnated in the colours of his boyhood club for the past few years and now needs to refresh.

Matters were made even worse for the player recently when Antonio Conte left him at home for the club’s tour of South Korea – if that doesn’t indicate that the writing is on the wall, then nothing will.
Nonetheless, this is what Sinclair had to say about Winks’ future in north London heading into the new season, which includes a return to the Champions League for the club.
“For Harry Winks, it’s different,” said Sinclair. “He has played a lot of games for Spurs and he has played a lot of games on the international stage.
“I don’t think he has the quality now to get into the team and a Spurs team that are going for the top-four. That’s not being cruel, it’s being factual.
“You look at them players they have in those positions. You look at the players they have brought in.
“Probably for Harry Winks, he’s going to have to move if he wants to continue his development as a player. The only way you can do that is by playing matches and by showcasing what you have got.
“I think with Harry Winks, I don’t think it will be a loan.”

FROM POCHETTINO FAVOURITE TO FIRST-TEAM STRUGGLES
It wasn’t so long ago that Winks was a first-team favourite of Mauricio Pochettino’s and he was a regular under the recently-sacked PSG boss.
The technically-gifted midfielder was even being selected on a regular basis by Gareth Southgate for England.
But that has now turned on its head and he is way down the pecking order ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
It’s pretty clear that Winks isn’t going to pick himself up from the floor in the colours of Tottenham, so perhaps leaving and starting afresh elsewhere will bring the best out of the player once more.
