It has been reported that Tottenham Hotspur have no interest in appointing Lee Dykes as their brand-new sporting director.

Journalist Alasdair Gold took to his YouTube channel to reveal this news about Spurs’ interest in Brentford’s director of football, who was linked with the job last Tuesday.

As Tottenham Hotspur remain persistent in their search for a sporting director to replace Fabio Paratici, Lee Dykes may not set to be to the solution.

Tottenham set not to appoint Lee Dykes as their sporting director

The 39-year-old has been lauded for the remarkable recruiting he has done at Brentford, signing the likes of Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbuemo and David Raya.

This season, Dykes has been shifted to the role of a technical director at the Bees, however.

With Tottenham seemingly keen on bringing Lee Dykes on board as their new sporting director, Alasdair Gold has refuted such claims.

“I suppose I have an idea of who they want. You would think but you know we’ve seen some of the other names that have kind of have been looked., Roma’s Thiago Pintoum, Tim Staten who used to be it by Leverkusen as well as two very very different candidates there as well.”

“There was also, I know, a lot of talk about Lee Dykes at Brentford. From what I understand, he’s not a candidate being considered.”

Tottenham must bring in a new sporting director regardless

Tottenham know best why Lee Dykes was not the perfect fit for them to fill the vacant sporting director role.

However, whatever said and done, Spurs must act quickly and appoint a Director of Football to handle their recruitment to bounce back from what has been a wholly disappointing season.

For far too long, the transfer strategy in the white half of N17 has been underwhelming to say the least.

To add to that, one can imagine that their struggles to appoint a new manager will continue, as any coach would consider the availability of one as a prerequisite before even considering the job.
