Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told Football.London that he does not know when Kieran Tierney will be back in action.
What’s the story?
Tierney did not play for Arsenal against Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium last night.
The left-back is one of the first names on the teamsheet when he is fit and available.
The former Celtic star is one of the better left-backs in the Premier League.
Nuno Tavares, signed in the summer transfer window, started at left-back in the place of 24-year-old Tierney – who earns £110,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.
Arsenal won 3-1.

Mikel Arteta’s comments
Arsenal boss Arteta has said that Tierney is injured, which is why he could not feature against Villa.
The Spaniard has said that he does not know when the Scotland international will be back in action again.
Arteta told Football.London about Tierney: “We don’t know how long he’s going to be out. He could not carry on the other day and he’s not available to play.”

Should Arsenal worry?
We know that Tierney has had injury problems for Arsenal.
Hopefully for Arsenal, the left-back will not be out of action for long.
However, Tavares’s performance against Villa at left-back was very encouraging.
The 21-year-old was very good defensively and contributed in attack.

Some Arsenal fans were very impressed by Tavares.
The Portugal Under-21 international was signed as a back-up, but perhaps now he will get a run in the team.
