Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has told Football.London that Cristian Romero will not play against Norwich City on Sunday.
Conte’s Tottenham will take on Norwich away from home at Carrow Road in their final Premier League game of the season.
Spurs effectively need a draw against the Canaries to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League next season.
Romero, who has been a key figure at Tottenham this season, has been suffering with a hip problem, and Conte has made it clear that the 24-year-old will play the North London club’s final game of the season.
Antonio Conte on Tottenham Hotspur’s Cristian Romero
Conte said about Romero, as quoted in Football.London: “No, Romero had a traumatic injury. I said to you that he is not available.
“We have the same players as the last game against Burnley. The same players, not less, not more. We have to be ready to fight and try to get the result.”

Not going to affect Spurs
In our opinion, Tottenham will not miss Romero – described by Conte as “perfect for the Premier League” in The Guardian February 2022 – against Norwich on Sunday.
We predict Tottenham to win the Premier League game against the Canaries with ease and finish in the top four.
Now, of course, anything can happen in football, but Norwich are the worst team in the Premier League for a season, and we do not see a slip-up from Spurs.
