Ramon Vega says Richarlison simply can’t be Harry Kane’s replacement at Tottenham Hotspur if the club’s star striker secures a transfer to Bayern Munich this summer.

The outspoken pundit mentioned how Richarlison ‘didn’t perform’ last season following his big-money transfer from Everton to Tottenham, as he told The Last Word On Spurs.

The 26-year-old only netted one Premier League goal under Antonio Conte – and he even had a public spat with the Italian after they were knocked out of the Champions League.

To be fair, that’s probably not a hard thing to do given how aggressive Conte can be towards anyone.

Either way, it shouldn’t hide away Richarlison’s struggles, even though the man up top, Harry Kane, netted 30 Premier League goals in a declining Tottenham side.

Now, that very player could be headed for the exit door before you know it, the fact that Daniel Levy is meeting with Bayern Munich officials should have fans worried, but who will replace the Englishman if he is gone? Richarlison isn’t the answer, according to former player, Vega.

“Not at all, he’s not enough,” said Vega. “Richarlison is a completely different striker, in terms of attitude. He’s not enough, it’s as simple as that.

“We need, at least, one or two other ones to join if Harry Kane leaves. Absolutely not enough, at all.

“We saw already, he wasn’t happy himself for the season because he didn’t play much either, at the same time, he didn’t perform. He took a while (to settle in), as I said before, players take a while to integrate into the squad until they are playing well.

“At the same time, if you are only just having him, then we need to have another two as well. Yes, there was a sign last year with him, that there is a possible replacement for Harry Kane. But that was last year.”

Richarlison will struggle with the pressure

As soon as Kane leaves, whoever is put in that spotlight will struggle big time, at the end of the day, you are walking into the shadow of a guy that is now Tottenam’s all-time leading goalscorer.

If Richrlison found life difficult when Kane was on the same pitch as him, then imagine what’s going to happen when the £90k-a-week star (Spotrac) has more responsibility.

It would be hilarious, if all of a sudden, he thrives, scores goals and Spurs go on to win a trophy under Ange Postecoglou.
