Everton midfielder Amadou Onana has no regrets about staying at Goodison Park despite being linked to some big clubs during the summer transfer window.
According to The Guardian, Manchester United made an approach to sign Amadou Onana, but the 22-year-old has told Le Soir that he has not missed out on anything and is focusing on Everton.
What exactly has Amadou Onana said?
Speaking to Le Soir and the rest of the Belgian media, Onana stated: “It’s not at all a missed opportunity. Football is all about timing. You have to know how to seize opportunities when they present themselves.
“I had changed clubs every summer transfer window in recent seasons, but sometimes you have to know how to slow down and be patient. Now I am fully focused on my task with Everton.”
Everton will be delighted that the former Lille man has remained at Goodison Park, as he was such a key player for them last season.
In total, Onana made 33 appearances in the Premier League as the Toffees went on to narrowly escape relegation.

However, while they have been able to keep hold of one of their star men, it looks like they could be in for another scrap at the wrong end of the table.
Everton currently find themselves in 18th after losing three of their first four games of the new season.
Amadou Onana does not need to be in a rush to leave Everton
While Onana would probably love to play for a club of United’s size at one stage in his career, he does not really need to push for a move now.
The £100,000-a-week (Spotrac) Belgium international is still just 22 years of age. He has plenty of time to secure a big transfer away from Sean Dyche’s side.
What Onana needs now is game time for his development, which he is currently getting. For many reasons, Goodison Park is not an environment filled with positivity at present, but Onana clearly seems to be happy there for the time being.
