Joe Cole has said on BT Sport 1 (7:23pm, December 16, 2021) that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are not as good as Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United.
The former Liverpool and Chelsea star does not think that Arsenal will finish in the Premier League top four.
The Englishman believes that Arsenal are not as good as Manchester United.
Cole said about Arsenal: “They will not threaten the top three. I don’t think they are not as good as Manchester United, but I do think they have something to build on.”

Now, we can safely say that Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea will finish in the Premier League top three this season.
So, we have one more Champions League spot left.
Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United all aiming for that spot.
In our view, while Manchester United have a better squad than Arsenal, the Gunners could still pip them to the fourth spot.
Arteta does not have to worry about any European competition this season.
So, Arsenal can simply concentre on their Premier League games.
And that would be huge.
Yes, there are not too many world-class players in the Arsenal squad, if any at all, but they have a very young and dynamic team.
Bukayo Saka, Ben White, Aaron Ramsdale, Gabriel and Emile Smith Rowe are superb young players.
Now, we know all about Cristiano Ronaldo, and having such a player is only going to keep United in the running.
However, we cannot dismiss Arsenal’s chances at all.
