Reported West Ham United target Josh Dasilva won’t be going anywhere in the January transfer window, Brentford manager Thomas Frank has told West London Sport.

Promotion-chasing Bees have made selling and replacing their star players an annual tradition but, with the Championship title up for grabs, any further departures will have to wait.

England U21 international Dasilva is a talismanic presence at the heart of Brentford’s midfield and showcased his undoubted Premier League potential during December’s 1-0 EFL Cup quarter-final victory over Newcastle United.

The former Arsenal starlet capped a man of the match performance – one described as “magnificent” by Jamie Redknapp – with the only goal of the game.

The Guardian reported in the aftermath of Dasilva’s swaggering midfield masterclass that West Ham were interested.

But, speaking ahead of tonight’s semi-final clash with Tottenham Hotspur, Frank has made his stance clear.

“I understand why Premier League clubs will approach (us), because we have some very good players,” Frank said when asked about speculation surrounding Dasilva.

“No players will leave us in January. That’s not an option. They enjoy playing for Brentford and we are enjoying the journey.

“None of the players want to leave us and we definitely don’t want to let them go.”

Brentford lost Said Benrahma to West Ham after suffering defeat in last season’s play-off final, while top scorer Ollie Watkins joined Aston Villa.

If the Bees miss out on promotion again, expect Dasilva, Rico Henry, Ivan Toney and co to consider their futures in the summer.
