Arsenal fans are desperate for Thomas Partey to arrive at the Emirates Stadium, after fresh claims that the deal is not dead.

Arsenal seemed to have missed out on the chance to sign Partey from Atletico Madrid this summer.

However, the Independent have claimed that Arsenal still have a chance of landing the Ghanian.

If Arsenal could sign Partey it would be a wonderful way to cap off the transfer window.

And Gunners supporters are praying that the latest update on the transfer does turn out to be correct, although they are cautious about getting their hopes up .

If Partey was to arrive at Arsenal he would add strength and defensive discipline to their midfield.

Arsenal have already got the likes of Dani Ceballos, Granit Xhaka and Ainsley Maitland-Niles who can play in the centre of the pitch, but there appears to be room for a midfield enforcer.

Arsenal have been tracking Partey all summer, and if the transfer was completed at this late stage, he could be one of their most exciting deadline day additions of all time.
