Alan Shearer told Match of the Day that England need ‘more players’ like Arsenal’s rising star, Bukayo Saka.
The Arsenal teenager started for England on Tuesday as they beat Germany 2-0 at Wembley at Euro 2020.
It was Saka who made way for the game-changer, Jack Grealish, in the second half, but during that first half, the Arsenal man was very impressive.
Shearer thinks he was England’s ‘best player’ during the first 45, as he lauded him for the bravery he showed on the ball.
“England have got to have more players like him, who are not afraid,” said Shearer. “To receive the balls in tights situations.
“He’s been so brave and he hasn’t been afraid. When someone is marking him tightly, he is still demanding the ball. He’s getting us fouls and he was our best player in that first half.”

The next stop for England is a showdown with Ukraine in Rome, with Saka hoping to maintain his starting place.
There’s no reason why he shouldn’t because he was outstanding against the German’s.
But following Grealish’s cameo, there will be cries for the Villa man to start.
Gareth Southgate played a pretty defensive-minded team against Germany, but that surely has to change on Saturday.
