Ahmed Musa is not heading back to CSKA Moscow, with reports linking West Ham United, Newcastle and Crystal Palace with the Russian giants wide of the mark, agent Tony Harris told Sport Express.

The 96-time Nigeria international might have bid farewell to life in the Russian capital four years ago but, to many, Musa will always be remembered most for his time as CSKA’s jet-heeled talisman.

The winger won three league titles with the club before sealing an ill-fated £16 million move to then-Premier League champions Leicester City in 2016.

Now a free agent after cancelling his £31 million contract at Saudi outfit Al Nassr, Musa has been linked with a return to where it all began but, according to his agent, reports of an emotional homecoming are false.

“This is not accurate information,” Harris explained.

The agent did add that a move to Galatasaray is still on the table, despite suggestions that reports over a move to the Turkish giants have broken down.

Musa scored just twice in a difficult spell at Leicester and, at the age of 28, he is quite clearly desperate to prove himself in arguably Europe’s most high-profile division before it’s too late.

TEAMtalk claim that West Ham, Newcastle, Burnley, Crystal Palace and a goal-shy Sheffield United have all been offered the chance to sign the experienced free agent.

Musa, meanwhile, told the BBC that a second spell in England is his ‘utmost desire’.
