Speaking on ESPN, Steve Nicol has been questioning how often Richarlison will actually play for Spurs, making a case for Dejan Kulusevski to be a regular starter.
Tottenham have spent massive money on signing Richarlison this summer in a deal that could be worth up to £60m, but, strangely, he’s not a guaranteed starter in north London.
In fact, Nicol thinks that Richarlison won’t be first-choice, stating that there’s absolutely no chance that Dejan Kulusevski will be relegated to the bench after a remarkable first six months in north London.
What’s been said?
Nicol spoke about Richarlison.
“Richarlison, how many games will he get?” Nicol asked.
“A lot, a lot of games, £60m and you’d put him on the bench at Tottenham?” The host replied.
“So who’s starting? Son, Kane and Richarlison? Kulusevski was brilliant last season and he’s out the door? Not a chance.” Nicol concluded.

First-choice
Kulusevski will probably start the season as Tottenham’s first choice on the right wing. After all, he was incredible last season, but that isn’t to say that Richarlison won’t get chances.
With Champions League football back on the agenda at Spurs, rotation will be key next term as Tottenham try to compete on all fronts.
Richarlison can play all across the front three, and while Son, Kane and Kulusevski may be Conte’s first-choice attack this season, due to injuries, suspensions and general squad rotation, we may not see those three starting together all that often.
Kulusevski probably won’t be relegated to the bench, but make no mistake about it, Richarlison will play plenty of football this season.
