Jermaine Jenas has told BT Sport, on the Premier League Tonight show, that Tottenham Hotspur’s Heung-Min Son would get nowhere near Liverpool’s team right now.

There has constantly been talk over whether Son would actually be an upgrade on Liverpool’s current attacking options.

But with the £22 million South Korean (Guardian) badly out of form of late, Jenas says that the Tottenham man would have no chance of breaking into Liverpool’s front three at this moment in time.

“Son, we didn’t even see Son today,” Jenas said, after Spurs were beaten by Chelsea last night.

“We were having a conversation the other day saying would Son get into Liverpool’s front three. The last three games no, we’re going not a chance.

“Without Kane he doesn’t get anywhere near it. With Kane, he’s a world beater.”

Liverpool’s attack actually hasn’t been functioning particularly well itself, with Jurgen Klopp’s side struggling in recent weeks.

However, it is clear to see that Son hasn’t been himself in a Tottenham shirt since Harry Kane’s injury.

Son managed just one shot on target against Chelsea yesterday, and even that was a weak left-footed drive from distance.

Son’s form has been a major disappointment for Spurs, as he is a player who they look to for inspiration.

With Kane out, Son carries much of the goalscoring burden for Jose Mourinho’s men, but he hasn’t lived up to those expectations well so far.
