Alasdair Gold has effectively written off the chances of six potential options to be Tottenham Hotspur’s next manager.

Gold discussed numerous candidates for the Tottenham role on his latest Youtube video.

There have been claims in the Italian media that Maurizio Sarri, Antonio Conte and Gian Piero Gasperini could all be on Tottenham’s wishlist.

However, Gold’s latest update suggested that Tottenham were not looking at any of the trio.

“Sarri comes up daily and I’m constantly told Sarri is not a candidate for the Tottenham Hotspur job,” he said.

“Antonio Conte I’ve seen today – not a candidate for the Tottenham Hotspur job, as far as I’m aware.

“Neither of them fit the profile – they are looking for someone who plays really progressive, attacking, possession based football with cutting edged techniques.

“Gasperini, I’ve seen linked. Apparently nothing in that whatsoever.”

He then went on to say that Norwich City’s Daniel Farke, former RB Leipzig boss Ralph Ragnick and current interim manager Ryan Mason were all very unlikely to land the Tottenham job too.

It leaves Spurs’ search for a new manager looking very open, with an outstanding candidate yet to truly emerge.

Tottenham immediately were linked with Julian Naglesmann, but he went to Bayern Munich, while Brendan Rodgers appears to have his heart set on staying at Leicester City.

Gold did say that Tottenham are hoping to have a manager in place before the end of the season.

But that means Spurs will now have to work very quickly, with time running out, and their potential options seemingly narrowing by the day.
