Glenn Hoddle told the Kelly and Wrighty show that Tottenham are yet to ‘the best’ of Gareth Bale who isn’t ‘100% fit’, at the moment.

Bale is yet to start a Premier League game for Spurs since he returned to the club in the summer, but he has found the back of the net in the league and recently in the Europa League.

Even without the Welshman’s lethal left-foot hurting the opposition, Spurs have produced some strong performances this season, and most recently, were sitting top of the table.

Hoddle shared his brief thoughts on Bale ahead of the North London derby tonight, which is set to be a lively encounter.

“We haven’t seen the best of Bale yet,” said Hoddle. “Bale’s not been 100% fit, so there’s still more to come from that scene.

“Tottenham are a very dangerous side to play against when they go 1-0 up. If they go 1-0 up, ‘wow’. You say you will have to do a lot to turn them around. The more you go forward, the more they will hurt you with who they have got. The personnel.

“Again, I’ll go back to Bale. We haven’t even really spoken about Bale. He is going to be a major asset if he gets anywhere near his 100% fitness.”

There’s no doubt that Spurs will, sooner rather than later, see the best of Bale, it’s just a case of being patient with his fitness and form.

Bale’s current situation is perhaps suiting Tottenham because it means that his best form will be left to the second half of the campaign when the crunch moments arrive.

But one half of North London will be hoping he will really start his motor tonight when their bitter rivals Arsenal visit.
