Tim Sherwood has joked on Premier League Productions that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg must have surprised himself by scoring for Tottenham Hotspur against Wolverhampton Wanderers today.

Tottenham got the better of Wolves 2-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League.

Harry Kane scored the first goal of the match on the stroke of half time, and Hojbjerg doubled the lead in the 62nd minute.

It was the Denmark international midfielder who provided the assist for Kane’s goal.

It was Hojbjerg’s only second Premier League goal of the season, and he now has four assists to his name as well.

Former Tottenham manager Sherwood has said that he was pleased to see the former Southampton star score.

The Englishman has joked that Hojbjerg surprised himself so much at scoring that he must have had a nose bleed.

Sherwood said on Premier League Productions: “I am pleased for Hojbjerg. He has got an assist and a goal today. Shortly after, he changed his shirt because he had a nose bleed because he found himself in the box. He has got more to his game.

“He got restricted under Jose, he did a very good job sitting in front of the two centre-backs. I think he has to show us a little bit more, and I think he is capable of that.”

Hojbjerg is a defensive midfielder by trade, but the Denmark international can drive forward and participate in attacking play.

The 25-year-old has done well on his debut season at Spurs following his move from Premier League rivals Southampton last summer.

Tottenham will have a new manager at the end of the season, and there could be changes in the squad.

Hojbjerg was a key player at Spurs under Jose Mourinho, and he will be an important figure in the team under a new manager as well.
