Eddie Nketiah scored again for Leeds United on Wednesday and the Norwich City summer signing has congratulated him.

Eddie Nketiah enhanced his reputation among Leeds United fans with a goal on his home debut last night.

The Arsenal loanee was the hero by scoring the 81st-minute winner which gave United a 1-0 victory over Brentford on Pontus Jansson’s return to Elland Road.

The 20-year-old, a deadline-day signing by Leeds, opened his account in the League Cup last week, but now he’s off the mark in the Championship.

Nketiah is one of Arsenal’s most exciting young players, and Norwich City’s Charlie Gilmour, who came through the ranks with him in North London, predicts that his former team-mate is going to rip up England’s second tier this season by comfortably breaking the 20-goal barrier.

Scoring 27 goals might be a big ask for Nketiah, given that he may be playing second fiddle to Patrick Bamford for much of the season.

But even if he scores half that amount, 13 or 14 in the Championship, it would still be a fine return for the youngster, if indeed Bamford stays as Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa’s first-choice hitman for most of the year.

His team-mate has three goals in four Championship games, but the bottom line is that Bielsa looks to have two very capable strikers at his disposal and if both can stay injury-free, it’ll go a long way to helping the Whites win promotion.
