Norwich City midfielder Kenny McLean has taken to Twitter with a message for the Canaries fanbase after signing a new three-year contract at Carrow Road.

The 27-year-old put pen to paper on a new Norwich deal on Monday which commits him to the Premier League club until the summer of 2022, as confirmed by their official website.

McLean, a Scotland international, moved to Carrow Road from Aberdeen in January 2018, but was loaned back to his old club until the end of the 2017-18 season.

He suffered a serious ankle injury early in 2018-19, but forced his way into Daniel Farke’s plans at the turn of the year and established himself as a key player as the Canaries won the Championship title, making 20 league appearances, scoring three goals and claiming six assists (Transfermarkt).

McLean is the latest Norwich player to sign a new contract at Carrow Road, following in the footsteps of the likes of Timm Klose, Tim Krul, Michael McGovern, Marco Stiepermann and Onel Hernandez in committing their futures to the newly promoted top-flight club.

On Twitter, the Scot expressed his delight with the new contract and hoped for more exciting times “on and off the pitch”:

McLean received a cheeky response from Scotland teammate and Swansea City ace Oliver McBurnie:

While some Norwich fans also responded, pleased with yet another great step forward for player and team:
