The Canaries midfielder, who came through the ranks at the Championship club, thinks the supporters’ view of the academy graduates is very supportive.

Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell has praised the club’s fans for how much love they show up-and-coming academy players.
The 20-year-old has come through the ranks at Carrow Road and made one appearance last term, in the FA Cup match at Chelsea in January, before a loan spell in the Netherlands with Fortuna Sittard.
This season, Cantwell has gone from strength to strength, making his first start for Norwich in the team’s Carabao Cup first-round match against Stevenage on 14 August 2018.
He then made his league debut in September 2018 against Reading and, in December 2018, scored his first senior goal in a 3-1 victory over Rotherham United, now boasting 20 appearances for Norwich this term (Transfermarkt).
Two years prior to the Chelsea debut, the Norfolk native helped the Canaries Under-18s reach the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup, scoring twice as his side came from 4-1 down to beat Middlesbrough 5-4 in February 2016.

Speaking in the upcoming matchday programme about his time in the academy and breaking into first-team contention, Cantwell said the supporters have really taken to him and his fellow graduates.
“It has been brilliant and exactly what I expected it to be because Norwich fans have always been very loving towards homegrown players,” he said, as quoted by Eastern Daily Press.
“The academy is where you get made, it’s where you get tested and pushed to the limit, and to come through from joining at nine years old is a credit to everyone at the academy as well and think that’s why we get such a warm welcome.”
