Norwich City forward Josh Murphy has made some interesting remarks regarding what the team was expecting following their start to the season.

The Murphy brothers have played a big role in Norwich’s early success this season, with their breakout start to the campaign helping the club flourish in their mission to bounce back up to the Premier League. Before a ball was even kicked people were talking about the Canaries’ likeliness for promotion, and it seems as if the players themselves were thinking the same thing.
As reported by Eastern Daily Press, Josh Murphy has spoken about how the team thought the season would be a ‘walk in the park’ following their opening day victory over Blackburn.
The 4-1 triumph at Ewood Park certainly gave Norwich fans a boost, as well as confirming their beliefs about what they could achieve this season.

“It’s hard to compare this season to last; every season changes. Last year was really difficult and this year is even more so.” said Murphy.
“It was different at a struggling team, but now I’m at a team that’s fighting for promotion.”
“We started off the season great with that Blackburn win. I think we all thought it was going to be a walk in the park but after that we had a bit of a reality check and I think that’s what we needed more than anything.”

Many will likely perceive this as arrogance from the Norwich squad, but at the end of the day there are not many people who would not have thought they would be in with a great chance of promotion.
Their push to get back into the top flight continues this week when they host Rotherham United at Carrow Road.
