Tottenham Hotspur lost 2-1 to the Reds at Anfield on Tuesday night.

Cameron Carter-Vickers was one of 10 changes made by Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino for Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Liverpool.
An under-strength Tottenham XI were dumped out of the League Cup before the quarter-final phase.
Daniel Sturridge scored twice in both halves to put Liverpool in cruise control, before Vincent Janssen struck a 74th-minute penalty but it was only a consolation.

Carter-Vickers, 18, partnered Kevin Wimmer at the heart of the Lilywhites’ defence and he looked okay for the most part, barring a few nervy moments.
It only the teenager’s second competitive game for Tottenham, and 18-year-old Norwich City sensation Ben Godfrey has congratulated him on what he felt was a strong showing at Anfield last night.

Godfrey was involved as Norwich were also dumped out of the League Cup last night after losing 3-2 on penalties to Leeds United, following a 2-2 draw over two hours of football.
It was Tottenham’s second defeat of the season, and they remain unbeaten in nine Premier League games – the only top-flight side yet to lose a game so far.
