The Canaries goalkeeper, back-up to Tim Krul, played for Northern Ireland at Euro 2016.

Norwich City have announced that goalkeeper Michael McGovern has signed a new contract with the Championship club until June 2021.
The 34-year-old joined the Canaries from Scottish club Hamilton Academical in July 2016 and has made 20 appearances, mostly serving as a back-up to first choice stopper Tim Krul.
McGovern has not featured in the league for the East Anglians this term but Daniel Farke has utilised him in the cups, with four appearances in the Carabao Cup and one in the FA Cup (Transfermarkt).
The Northern Ireland international has made 29 appearances for the nation, including playing every minute of every game at Euro 2016 as Michael O’Neill’s side reached the last 16 (Transfermarkt).
“It was a difficult decision because I haven’t played as many games over the past couple of years as I would have liked,” McGovern told the official club website. “But you’ve got to bear in mind that this is a club striving to get to the Premier League.”
Norwich’s announcement on Twitter led to a mixed reaction from the Canaries faithful, with some wondering what the point was, given how little he has featured, but others looking at the bigger picture and what he brings to the changing room:
With seven games remaining in the Championship for most of the division’s teams, the Canaries are at the summit, five points clear of Leeds United in second, and with a seven-point cushion over third-place Sheffield United.
