A large number of Norwich City fans have taken to Twitter to celebrate the news that virtually everyone linked to the Canaries wanted to hear, namely Max Aarons signing a new contract at Carrow Road (official Norwich website).

The 19-year-old right-back enjoyed an amazing breakthrough season in 2018-19, making 41 appearances in the Championship (Transfermarkt) as Daniel Farke’s charges won the title ahead of Sheffield United and Leeds United.

Aarons’ talent, attitude and maturity naturally brought about reported interest from suitors, and despite Norwich going up to the Premier League, speculation linking the teenager to Spurs continued to make an appearance, as reported by Football.London late last month.

Numerous key members of Norwich’s Championship-winning team, including Mario Vrancic, Tom Trybull, Christoph Zimmermann, Emiliano Buendia, Teemu Pukki, Marco Stiepermann, Onel Hernandez, Ben Godfrey, Kenny McLean and Tim Krul, had all penned new deals at Carrow Road.

Now, the one player who had yet to commit his future to the Canaries – and arguably one of the most eagerly awaited – has finally put pen to paper, and needless to say there was an eruption of joy from the Norwich fanbase on Twitter.

Here is just some of the reaction on the social media platform:

Norwich have had a fruitful summer on the player recruitment and retention front, with Sam Byram and Josip Drmic joining permanently, along with several highly rated youngsters such as Daniel Adshead, plus Patrick Roberts and Ralf Fahrmann arriving on loan.
