The Canaries have announced the Switzerland striker’s arrival at Carrow Road as they gear up for their Premier League return.
A number of Norwich City fans have taken to Twitter after the Premier League club announced the signing of Switzerland striker Josip Drmic on a three-year deal (official club website).
The 26-year-old will join the newly promoted Canaries on 1 July from German club Borussia Monchengladbach, where he has spent the past four seasons.
Drmic, who is joining the Carrow Road outfit as a free agent, becomes Daniel Farke’s second summer recruit following the arrival of Manchester City’s Patrick Roberts on a season long loan.
The centre-forward, who is an international teammate of Timm Klose, has been capped by his country 32 times and played in two World Cups, as well as featuring in the UEFA Nations League finals earlier this month.
Drmic endured a difficult season last time out for Monchengladbach as back and muscle issues saw him sidelined for long periods and slip out of first-team contention behind Thorgen Hazard and Alassane Plea, ultimately making just five Bundesliga appearances (Transfermarkt).
“We made it clear we wanted to sign a new striker and we have found a guy who has proved himself at the highest level,” Farke told the club website. “He has had a difficult couple of years with injuries, but we feel he is the full package. Two or three years ago, some of the biggest clubs in Europe were interested in him.”
