The Canaries were put to the sword at Anfield but many of the Carrow Road faithful were proud of their side’s display.

Tim Krul of Norwich celebrates their first goal during the Sky Bet Championship match between Norwich City and Hull City at Carrow Road on March 13, 2019 in Norwich, England.

Norwich City goalkeeper Tim Krul has taken to Twitter with a message for the Canaries fanbase following the team’s 4-1 loss away at Liverpool on Friday night.

As Premier League opening-day fixtures go, travelling away to a side which picked up 97 points the season before and then lifted the European Cup is pretty much as tough as it gets.

Throw in the fact that the team taking on such a side is one which played in the Championship in 2018-19, and it’s definitely a tall order, as it proved to be at Anfield.

Norwich did not play badly as such but they struggled to initially get going against a world-class side which hit the ground running, the outcome of which was a 4-0 half-time deficit.

However, Liverpool could easily have won by an even bigger margin were it not for Krul pulling off superb saves against the likes of Divock Origi, Roberto Firmino and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

After the match, the Dutchman posted the following message on social media, which received a very positive reaction from the Carrow Road fanbase:

Up next for Daniel Farke’s side is Newcastle United coming to Carrow Road on 17 August.
