Norwich City fans are mocking their Ipswich Town counterparts after Sunderland appointed Jack Ross as manager on Friday.

Ross was among the leading contenders for the Ipswich vacancy, although it is unclear whether he was ever offered the chance to succeed Mick McCarthy before committing to Sunderland.

Nevertheless, those of a Norwich persuasion were unwilling to let a good opportunity pass. This is what they have been saying on Twitter…

Ross has signed a two-year deal at Sunderland, having impressed north of the border with St Mirren, who he led to the Scottish Championship title this campaign.

However, the opportunity to lead the Mackems into a bright new era – albeit in League One – appears to have proved too big a pull.

Both Ipswich and Norwich will lock horns again in next season’s Championship, with the Tractor Boys having finished above their local rivals on goal difference this time out.

Will Ipswich be made to rue Ross’s move to Sunderland?
